Samsung, out of nowhere, has announced the One UI 5 Watch update. The update will be coming to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5. It would be safe to guess that this update will be based on Wear OS 4, considering how Samsung is pushing for a great smartwatch experience. The company has introduced many new features that will improve your overall experience.
So, what are you going to get with One UI 5 Watch? Quite a lot, to be honest, and I am glad that Samsung finally announced the latest update. Let's have a look at what's coming with the new update.
One UI 5 Watch will be available on Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series later this year
Now, for some time, Samsung has been trying to improve the One UI Watch experience, and with the One UI 5 Watch, the company has introduced a new set of features that will improve the overall user experience. Let's look at what's new.
One UI 5 Watch will offer better sleep management
Let's start with the first feature that One UI 5 Watch will bring, and this revolves around better sleep management. With the new update, the watch will be able to recognize sleep patterns using the Sleep Insights UI, which will display the user's sleep score and an insight into how they slept the night before that. You will also get metrics on snoring hours, blood oxygen levels, and different sleep phases.
In addition to that, One UI 5 Watch will also bring Sleep Coaching. You will be able to turn this feature on from your watch without having the need to be connected to your device. Last but not least, with the new update, users will also get some tips for better sleep. This is definitely something that would help people have healthier, proper sleep. Something that a lot of us are in dire need of.
Making fitness capabilities better than before
Another good thing about the One UI 5 Watch is that it will improve the overall fitness features. Samsung wants to make your Galaxy Watch a better companion and will offer the ability to measure your cardiorespiratory capacity and personalized heart rate intervals based on aerobic and anaerobic thresholds. There will be five different zones determining where your heart rate should be. These zones start with a warm-up, fat burn, cardio, hard training, and maximum effort.
In addition to that, with One UI 5 Watch, users will be able to access GPX (GPS Exchange Format) files on their Galaxy Watch 5, which will give them a better understanding of routes when it comes to running and walking.
One UI 5 Watch brings better safety features
Safety features have become a lot more critical for anyone with a smartwatch, and with One UI 5 Watch, Samsung is looking to bring better safety features. For instance, the emergency SOS feature is now improved and can connect you to an emergency number. In an emergency, all you have to do is press the home button five times in a row, which should connect the call for you.
You can even register your medical information within the Galaxy Watch, so there is a prompt that would allow direct access to all the medical information, as well. Last but not least, fall detection will also be coming to Galaxy Watch and can be enabled in the settings, but if the user is 55 year old and above, it will be turned on by default.
Samsung has also announced that One UI 5 Watch will be available as a beta for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 users through the Members app. At the moment, the date has not been revealed, but we are hoping that it will arrive in the second half of this year.
