The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Patch 1.1.2 Rolled Out and We’ve Got the Patch Notes

Tears of the Kingdom Patch 1.1.2

Nintendo has deployed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Patch 1.1.2 for the Nintendo Switch, packing several fixes and improvements.

After last week's first post-launch update for the Breath of the Wild sequel, Nintendo has now rolled out another update, although it appears to be a minor one once again. According to the official patch notes, the Tears of the Kingdom patch 1.1.2 addresses an audio bug where the game's audio volume would be extremely high on some occasions. For those experiencing this annoying bug - glad that this appears to be fixed.

In addition, this new post-launch update addresses a progression issue with the “Camera Work in the Depths” main quest which prevented players from progressing beyond a certain point in the quest. After installing this patch, those affected by this issue should be able to proceed and complete the quest. Also included with this update are fixes for several unnamed issues in order to improve the gameplay experience.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released for the Nintendo Switch earlier this month, and as reported last week, more than 10 million copies of the title were sold in three days - impressive numbers for sure and well above the initial sales numbers of its predecessor, 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It will be interesting to see how game sales of Tears of the Kingdom will develop over time.

We reviewed Tears of the Kingdom upon launch and rated it with a solid 9. Here's what Nathan Birch wrote in his launch review:

"Tears of the Kingdom’s structure also feels rather familiar, at least initially", he wrote. "While the large Sky Island you wake up on at the beginning of the game may seem novel at first, it quickly becomes clear it is essentially the new Great Plateau, complete with the helpful specter of a past king to guide you and multiple tutorial-style shrines to complete before you can venture into the wider world. Once you make it down to the surface, you’re once again sent on an open-ended quest to visit the four quadrants of the map, where you’ll have to solve the problems of the local residents (the Rito, Gerudo, Zora, and Gorons) and complete a dungeon. Of course, this all worked well enough in the past, but there are moments when it feels like you’re simply playing a Breath of the Wild remix."
