The Galaxy S23 FE has been a mystery for some time, but that changes now because the phone has just leaked in full, showing us what Samsung's upcoming affordable flagship is going to look like and making us wonder how much this phone is going to cost, as well. Sure, there are some questions surrounding the device, but I am really glad to see that something affordable is heading to the masses.
The Galaxy S23 FE shows how Samsung is still confident this phone could sell despite having older hardware
Now, the Galaxy S23 FE is a bit of a conundrum. For starters, I think it should be called the Galaxy S22 FE, mainly because it is rumored to sport an Exynos 2200 chipset instead of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that is found on the Galaxy S23 device. We are not exactly sure why Samsung is going for an older chipset, but considering how this phone is aimed at the mid-tier flagship, it does make sense.
Without further ado, we can have a look at the Galaxy S23 FE below. Looking at the device from all angles should give you an understanding that Samsung is sticking to the same design. You get a flat screen on the front, with a triple camera setup on the back. Let's look at the renders showing the device in white. The leaked renders are coming as a courtesy of OnLeaks and SmartPrix
If you are wondering how the Galaxy S23 FE resembles the Galaxy A54 or the Galaxy S23, then you are not the only one. Samsung has been using this design DNA for some time, and it just works. The phone looks like a Samsung phone from afar. On the front, you are greeted with a 6.4-inch, flat OLED panel with noticeable bezels. Now, the bezels could have used some shrinking, but I am glad that the flatter display is available.
As far as the specs, there is a high chance that you are getting an Exynos 2200 under the hood, but the source has also mentioned the possibility of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Sadly, you are not getting the latest chipset, so that is one thing to keep in mind. You will get a 120Hz refresh rate panel, a combination of 6 or 8 gigs of RAM with 128 or 256 gigs of storage. You will also get around 4,500 mAh battery and 25W fast charging.
The Galaxy S23 FE is said to have a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 12+12-megapixel combination of a telephoto and an ultrawide sensor. We don't know when the phone is going to come out but we are hoping Samsung goes ahead with the unveiling at next month's Galaxy Unpacked event.
