At their top-tier configurations, even gaming smartphones offer up to 18GB RAM, but the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro reportedly aims to breeze past the entire competition, at least on paper. According to the latest specifications leak, the upcoming flagship is said to feature an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, along with hefty amounts of memory.
RAM count on the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro said to be 24GB and supports the faster, more efficient LPDDR5X standard
With Samsung’s exclusivity period to use the powerful variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 over, it gives the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro the opportunity to offer the best-in-class hardware for a 2023 Android flagship. According to the details shared by Shishir on Twitter, the chipset’s Cortex-X3 core will operate at 3.36GHz instead of 3.20GHz. To remind you, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy had the Cortex-X3 running at a higher clock speed, with the GPU overclocked, too, so we should expect the same from the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro.
Now, coming to the most impressive specifications bit of the smartphone, 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM means the flagship will have twice as much memory as the Galaxy S23 Ultra and six times the RAM present in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Another thing to note is that where companies like Samsung are sticking with the LPDDR5 standard, OnePlus has gone the extra mile and is rumored to incorporate faster and more efficient LPDDR5X chips, so the Ace 2 Pro can last slightly longer.

If thermals are going to be a concern, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro could alleviate this problem by using a large vapor chamber cooler, which helps tame those temperatures. Aside from that, the beastly spec’d device is rumored to ship with 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. In case you did not know, the UFS 4.0 standard is significantly faster than UFS 3.0, making the smartphone more responsive and opening up apps quicker.
The camera hardware details were not mentioned in the tweet, but the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will likely be targeted to consumers who want the absolute best in hardware specifications while also getting some bragging rights in return. We still have to wait and see how much it costs, and with impressive internals like this, we will be thoroughly surprised if the handset is offered at a competitive price.
