Personal Voice in iOS 17 Accessibility

Apple recently announced its latest iOS 17 and additional software updates to the world with major changes throughout the platform. iOS 17 features a plethora of new features and various design elements have been altered compared to iOS 16. One of the major additions coming with iOS 17 as part of Apple's Accessibility features is the new Personal Voice. This is not the first time we are hearing details on the feature as the company unveiled Personal Voice along with a handful of other additions earlier this year. The feature basically lets you create a voice that sounds like you.

Personal Voice in iOS 17 will create a voice that sounds like you in an hour for communication purposes

The new Personal Voice feature in iOS 17 will allow you to create a virtual voice that sounds just like you. Currently, there are no examples to share but according to the company, Personal Voice will be helpful for individuals with impaired communication. Since Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 17, we will see the feature in action soon. If you are a developer and running the latest iSO 17 beta, you can check out the feature by going to Accessibility > Personal Voice.

As for the operation, you will be able to create your Personal Voice in approximately one hour. Apple's requirements for Personal Voice states that the user must be in a quiet place and that he or she should speak naturally. Furthermore, the iPhone should be six inches away from your face. Apple will warn you if you have background noise.

All you have to do is read a couple of sentences out loud, allowing the iPhone to detect the pattern and sound of your voice and store it. You will be able to use your voice through text-to-speak. You will then be able to use your voice in different communication apps like FaceTime, Phone app, and more. Needless to say, Personal Voice will be available for all compatible iPhone models with iOS 17 later this year.
