Yuzu Switch Emulator Latest Builds Improve VRAM Usage, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Performance And Load Times

Yuzu

The Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator latest builds introduce some welcome improvements that not only improve The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom emulation but also the performance of select other titles such as Super Mario Odyssey and others.

The Yuzu Early Access 3631 build, which was released a few days back, introduces better VRAM handling, which allows for better VRAM usage in general, reduced stuttering in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on lower-end hardware when using texture recompressing, and much better stability on Linux with reduced memory usage.

The Yuzu Early Access 3635 build, which launched today, improves performance slightly for titles like Super Mario Odyssey, Astral Chain, and Metroid Prime Remastered and improves load times for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Fire Emblem Engage, making playing these games on PC, even more, the definitive way to enjoy them.

The improvements introduced in the latest Yuzu Early Access builds have yet to make their way into the public build of the emulator, but they usually do so in a matter of days. If you want to enjoy them as soon as possible, however, you can get access to these early builds by subscribing to the developer's Patreon page.

The Yuzu is now available for PC and Android devices via the Google Play Store. More information on the emulator can be found on its official website.
