Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Dynamic FPS Mod Version 1.5.2 Improves Animations Fluidity, Camera Sensitivity

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

A new version of the excellent The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Dynamic FPS mod is now available for download, introducing further improvements for an improved experience.

Version 1.5.2 introduces hitch detection code as well as game-speed smoothing, which helps with some animations like gliding animations. Camera sensitivity was also improved alongside 30 FPS video playback. The Framerate cap was also changed to 145 FPS from the 288 cap introduced in the previous version of the mod, as the lower cap limits shrines out-of-bounds glitches. The new version of the mod, which is compatible with all versions of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, can be downloaded by going here.

The release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was accompanied by frequent updates to the Yuzu and Ryujinx emulators, which both managed to run the game quite well at launch. Last week, the Yuzu emulator also launched on Android, allowing users to play some Switch games with decent performance. While Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom still isn't really playable on mobile devices, the decent level of performance already achieved bodes quite well for the future.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available on Nintendo Switch worldwide. You can learn more about the game by checking out Nathan's review.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sticks closely to the blueprint established by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it’s a richer, more rewarding game in most ways that count, offering a more intricate world, versatile suite of abilities, epic story, and satisfying dungeons. The familiarity of this Hyrule and a handful of frustrating sections keep Tears of the Kingdom from feeling quite as surprising and magical as its predecessor, but make no mistake, the wait has been worth it. While it probably behooves Nintendo to carve out an entirely new Legend next, Link’s latest should fill most fans’ heart meters nicely in the meantime.
