The Galaxy S24 Ultra is Tipped to Use a New and Improved 200-Megapixel Sensor

Galaxy S24 Ultra

The rumors surrounding the Galaxy S24 series are ramping up every day, presenting us with a slew of new information about Samsung's latest flagship series, and today, we are hearing that the Galaxy S24 Ultra could bring a new and improved 200-megapixel camera sensor. Now, this might be a disappointment for some because many of us, including me, were hoping for a 1-inch sensor, but it seems like the South Korean tech giant has some other plans.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra could launch with an improved version of the ISOCELL HP2 camera, but it's not a big deal

According to the latest tip, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could come with a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP2SX sensor. The source claims that the new sensor is going to serve as an upgraded ISOCELL HP2 that made its debut in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The surface area has not changed as it is still a 1/1.3-inch sensor and has an individual pixel size of 0.6µm.

Now, this might be a downside for a lot of people, but honestly, the Galaxy S23 Ultra's camera is one of the best in the market, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra getting an improved sensor is not going to change my decision, even if it is the same sensor with improvements made to it. Samsung knows what it is doing in terms of its devices, and if I am getting better overall camera performance, then I don't think there is a reason to worry.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is shaping up to be an excellent device, and while I would not call it a major upgrade over the Galaxy S23 Ultra, it is going to be a good change for those who are still running the Galaxy S22 Ultra and will deliver stellar performance across the board. A lot of rumors surrounding the device have popped up in the past couple of months, and some of them are really compelling. So far, it appears that the new phone could offer a flat display, a massive departure from a curved screen. Samsung could also use a titanium frame for the new flagship, and of course, we could get a better overall camera experience.

Needless to say, I will finally retire my Galaxy S22 Ultra once the Galaxy S24 Ultra finally hits the stores, and I am looking forward to seeing what other improvements Samsung introduces with the latest flagship. We will keep you posted about everything that we learn.
