In February 2022, Take-Two and Netflix partnered to create a live action film adaptation of the BioShock game franchise. Around six months later, we learned that Francis Lawrence, the director of Hunger Games, Constantine, I Am Legend, Sparrow, and Slumberland, would be taking care of the project. Later that year, Lawrence himself talked about what makes BioShock unique. He also confirmed that franchise creator Ken Levine would be involved in some capacity.
