SolidRun, a company known for producing embedded systems, has unveiled a "fanless" mini-PC powered by Ryzen 7040 "Phoenix" APUs. The Bedrock R7000 Mini PC features high-end hardware specifically designed for the AI industry.
The SolidRun Bedrock R7000 Mini PC Is Specifically Designed For AI-Applications, & Powered By AMD's Ryzen 7040 "Phoenix" APUs In A Fanless Chassis
The SolidRun Bedrock R7000 Mini PC has two APU options: the AMD Ryzen 7840HS or the Ryzen 7840U. They come with an 8C/16T configuration based on AMD's latest Zen4 architecture. The APUs are also accompanied by an iGPU, the Radeon 780M. To elevate AI computing performance, SolidRun has provided the option of integrating three Hailo-8 AI accelerators which provide a combined total performance of up to 78 TOPS (Tera Operations per Second).
Coming to the onboard memory and storage capacities, despite being a compact unit, the Bedrock R7000 comes with ample options. The mini-PC features 2x SODIMMs which can support up to 64 GB DDR5 ECC/non-ECC memory. Moreover, the device also comes with 3 NVME 2280 PCIE Gen4x4 slots providing users with an extensive storage capacity. The R7000 features "power loss protection" and "conduction-cooling" to provide a seamless performance experience without worrying about high temperatures.
In the absence of a fan, you may be wondering how the Bedrock R7000 is kept cool. The company has devised a unique fanless cooling solution. The cooling mechanism in the device includes "liquid metal TIM, 360º stacked heat pipes, dual-layer chimney effect heat exchanger and thermal coupling of all internal devices." The device is expected to operate at a temperature range of -40ºC to 85ºC, courtesy of its effective cooling method.
Onboard ports of the device include "HDMI 2.1 + 3x DP 2.1, dual 2.5 Gbit Ethernet (Intel I226), optional WiFi 6E + BT 5.3, 5G or LTE modem, and 4 USB 3.2 ports." The Mini-PC comes in various designs, depending on your APU option. The Bedrock R7000 is indeed an "industrial PC" and by no means is intended to be used for gaming or any other application. (unless you desire to test the product).
