The Bird is Dead as The Legendary Twitter Logo is Finally Being Replaced by an X, Long Live the Bird

It has been less than a day since Elon Musk mentioned how he is going to rebrand Twitter, and the new version will simply be called X. While at that time, we thought this was just another experiment or jest, it appears not as the ubiquitous bird logo has started to disappear for a lot of people on various platforms and is now being replaced by a simple X, the same logo that we saw yesterday.

The famous Twitter bird logo is finally dead as it is being replaced by the X across the globe

This does come as a worrying thing for a lot of Twitter users, including myself. I have always found the platform to be much better than the competition, and it works really well, too. I've met not only some great people on the platform, but it's generally a great thing for those who want to unwind or just read through what's happened while they were away. Now, the future of the platform looks bleak.

The change was first spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi, who noticed that Twitter's bird logo is replaced by an X. Then a friend of mine sent me a photo showing the same change, and well, as it stands, the change has started to take place for a lot of users including myself. What's even more interesting is that if you head over to x.com, you will be redirected to twitter.com.

What's strange is that Twitter actually fired the designer who worked on the rebranding. The designer took to the platform to talk about how they learned a lot in just 2.5 weeks working in the company, which does seem strange because why would you hire someone only to fire them in less than three weeks.

The change has apparently gone live, and more people have started reporting how the bird logo is completely gone. This should not really come as a surprise, because, under Musk's leadership, Twitter seems to be moving a lot faster than some had expected. At the time, I don't know if this change is going to stay or will be rolled back. In case you don't know, a couple of months ago, Musk replaced the bird logo with the logo of Doge, a popular meme on the internet, and the change was reverted after a while. This does look like a similar situation, but the extent of it is still not something we are fully sure of.

How do you feel about Twitter being rebranded to X? Do you think the name should remain the same, or should Musk change it, as well? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
